Photographers bustling my dress
Giving tip envelopes to various vendors- My Dad actually took care of this, it was something he wanted to be in charge of.  This is really something that your DH can keep track of.

Bustling my dress for the reception- our photographers did this after our off-site shots just before we were headed to the reception

Keeping an ear out for the DJ getting too loud- Your DJ should be a professional and this won't be a problem.

Keeping an eye on the card box- the staff at our reception site did this.  This is actually a job and the person assigned to this won't be able to enjoy the reception.  I actually forgot about making a cardbox and the envelopes were just laid out on the table.  They were just fine.

Taking care of my dress after the reception- Where is your dress going after the party?  Is there a reason you can't wear it to your suite and then drop it off somewhere the next day?

Watching out for crazy Aunt Linda talking my ear off for too long- You can do this yourself.  Just remind Aunt Linda that it was great talking to her and walk away.  Your DH will be a better resource then bridal party.

Keeping receiving line moving- They won't have any control over this.  Ask your photographers to keep people going or make sure you don't talk to someone for very long.

Making sure grandparents get corsages as they arrive- Your bm and gm will also be busy getting ready.  You can ask the florist, the site's coordinator, or even your photographers to make sure they get them.

Taking care of the gifts after the reception-  My parents and DH gathered up the gifts and took them out to my parent's car.  They did say that they wish they had asked someone else to do since they were pooped by the end of the day.

How many bridesmaids/groomsmen did you have?
We had 6 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen.  We originally thought that we needed an even party, but we quickly found out that wasn't going to work.  I'm really happy we didn't cut or add anyone.  It is really about who is standing with you, not how many.

Where did you get your flower girl baskets?
I went shopping for them around Easter.  I also bought some red and yellow ribbon and used double sided tape to attach them around the basket.

Where did you get your toasting flutes and server set?
We bought them from Oriental Trading company.  We were very please with the quality and engraving and they are pretty cheap.  If you go to their website you can sign up to receive their wedding catalog and they usually come with a coupon for free shipping.

What were your colors:
Red, lavender, and yellow

How/When did you ask your bridesmaids?
Since I didn't live anywhere near them, I called them up and asked.   I asked shortly after I was engaged, so 10 months.  It is usually best to wait until 8 months before the wedding since you never know how relationships change and removing a bridesmaid is a friendship ending move.

What was you first dance/father-daughter dance songs?
First dance- Moon River sung by Frank Sinatra.  I looked up the lyrics to make sure there were any bad meanings behind the words- there wasn't!

Father-daughter- Love Without End Amen by George Strait

Wedding Planning Guide/Book

Picture
I bought The Ultimate Wedding Planning Guide by Elizabeth & Alex Lluch.  I found this book to be very useful and it had a lot of info on what to ask vendors a lot of wedding terminology (like the difference between an invitation and an announcement), must take photos ideas, and possible ceremony music.

Later, we registered at JC Penny and they give you a free wedding planner when you register for 15 items or more.  The planner you get is more of a binder, but it was written by the same authors as the book I bought and had a lot of information and a lot of places to keep track of papers, business cards, etc.

Contact Deacon John Kunsemiller by calling the Parish office at: 970-635-5800.

To reserve your date you must pay the fee in full.  Your date and time will not be held until the full fee is paid to Deacon Kunsemiller.  If he says, a deposit is fine, do not believe him, he will give your date away if someone else pays in full first!

Timeline

Click below to download a timeline for the day before the ceremony and for the reception.  We created this by consulting our photographers on timing for photos and our DJ for timing during the ceremony.  I would trust your vendors if you are using them, they know what they are doing and how much time they need to complete things.
